Have you ever been out to dinner at a restaurant where they give your kids the little folded up kids menu/activity sheet with four crayons?
I have, and let me tell you something.
My child doesn't quite understand tic-tac-toe, word searches, crosswords puzzles, and the like. She just isn't old enough to do those activities on her own. This means that I filter endless questions about the sheet while I attempt to talk to my husband about any number of things.
I don't love to bring the Ipad and let her loose on a cyber binge that inevitably ends in hysterics over having to give it up to eat the restaurant mac-n-cheese. But...if I bring nothing I end up hearing "when are leaving" x 100.
No, I'm done with that. I figured out something WAY better. Something she begs me not to forget before we leave home. Something that allows her to be creative and thoughtful without coming down with blue light syndrome and the meltdown that always accompanies it.
