The UPS guy hates me with a capital "H" right now. He parked at the end of our long driveway and heaved this gorgeous 36"x36" Andrea Costa painting up to the front door. He wasn't as excited as I was because I don't think he has had heart eyes for this big, beautiful, moody piece of art for the last two years. It is called "Alone At Last" and is a great quality Giclee from Ballard Designs (Artist: Andrea Costa).
It is the perfect moody piece for the family room yet it reads like a fresh landscape. My favorite. I am still working on finishing painting the built-ins...which is why the shelves are missing and the outlets are exposed. I was trying to finish all of this in anticipation of this painting getting here. It was supposed to be shipped sometime in March, and I ordered it in January. For whatever reason (doesn't matter to me), it got here WAY quicker!
The colors are much darker than the images online. I am okay with it, it is gorgeous. The tones go perfectly with the gray velvet drapes and the moss green accents. It pops against Behr's "Divine White" paint.
I am super happy with this purchase, even though pricey, it is worth it. It pulls the room together and anchors the focal point. I am still trying to figure out if the wrapped canvas is a little modern for the space. I can always have it dropped into a frame. I have found that I just need to live with things before making any decisions. I ordered two more prints for the dining room...WHOOP WHOOOOOP! No one knows about that but me and I can't wait until they get here in a couple of weeks. We may not have a kitchen, but we will have some great art!
If you are interested in art from Ballard Designs, I recommend signing up for their emails. I was able to get this painting for 20% off with free shipping. They rarely run free shipping deals so I pays to wait and watch for the best discount (usually 25%) with free shipping.
